Evaluations

For National, Regional and Regional candidate referees, you must obtain your required maintenance evaluations in the appropriate window as mentioned below. If you are a (Grassroots) Referee seeking developmental feedback or mentoring, please see our Mentor Request page.

Regional Candidates

You must obtain three (3) evaluations within the span of a 12 month period from three different Referee Coaches. All three evaluations must be obtained and may not occur within 30 days of each other to display a progression of development and advancement from the feedback.

Expected Average Score: 8.0

Regional Maintenance

You must obtain two (2) evaluations between the prior registration window e.g. for 2026, you must have evaluations completed between July 1st, 2024 and June 30th, 2025. Any evaluations from July 1st, 2025 and December 31st, 2025 in the example would count towards 2027 registration (not 2026).

It is expected that you obtain one evaluation in the Fall and one in the Spring to display that you have worked on the necessary feedback and shown development/receptiveness to coaching from the respective Referee Coach. Note that each evaluation must be performed by a different Referee Coach.

National Upgrade & Maintenance

You must obtain three (3) evaluations between the prior registration window e.g. for 2026, you must have evaluations completed between July 1st, 2024 and June 30th, 2025. Any evaluations from July 1st, 2025 and December 31st, 2025 in the example would count towards 2027 registration (not 2026).

It is expected that you get a distribution of evaluations over time (not all in a short period of time) as well as obtain a minimum of one evaluation out-of-state (unfamiliar league/teams). Note that each evaluation must be performed by a different National Referee Coach.
